Infinite Playlist

This morning on the way to work, they played Dolly Partons "9 to 5" which I must admit I love.

And it got me thinking, I need a good old fashioned mix tape (and by mix tape, I mean "iPod playlist" with awesome songs like that on it.

So I sat down to write a list. Thus far it's got "9 to 5" on it.

Can you kids help me?

Amos Moses and When You're Hot You're Hot... Jerry Reed... heck, why not Sugar Foot Rag too.

Mind you, these are all older countryish and do not reflect what I normally listen to :)

I'm a heavy metal mama.

I cannot add to what seems to be your alter ego playlist...really,
9-5? Oh I know, when I was about 10, there was a song by Donna Fargo called The Happiest Girl in the Whole USA...it has the words
zippity do dah in it. and I knew the words. I just had a little throw up in my throat. Did you know if you click on my profile on my blog, you can listen to my playlist from playlist.com?

The best song ever are when you were a child. The songs that bring back fabulous memories for you. That's what I loaded up my Mp3 player....
Joan Jett, Billy Squire, KC and the Sunshine band, AC/DC, Metallica, Jimi Hendrix...to Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan.

OMGawd 9-5 has such freeking great lyrics:
stumble out of bed stumble to the kitchen
pour myself a cup of ambition

Dolly ROCKS for rhyming the word AMBITION with KITCHEN.

I have the Most Awesome Playlist Evah. But it's about 566 songs long: can you pick a type of music or era?

Currently we listen to Katy Perry every morning: Hot and Cold and I Kissed A Girl. You should see Banana lip synch to that one.

Let me think on it some more, but right off the bat I'm thinking of Jack and Diane. Who doesn't sing along to that?!

Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks - My Old Timey Baby. I was listening to them when the rest of the teenage world loved Alice Cooper, You Can Go To Hell. And I still turned out all f.ed up.

I've thought about it some more and would like to add Jenny 867-5309 and Doin' Da Butt. Where these thoughts come from, I don't know.

just transfer all the songs i've burned on to various mix cd's for you into itunes and onto the ipod from there. admit it, it's all the music you need. or want.
