Dear Clothing Makers. I hate you.

Seriously.

How in the world do the jeans I wore on Monday fit fine (if a bit loosely) and have a size "14" tag and the jeans I'm wearing TODAY also fit fine (though also a bit loosely) and have a size "10" tag?

How is it possible that my size medium shirts fit pretty much the same as the large and they both fit almost the same and an extra large, except that in different brands where the medium is too large and the extra large is too small?

It makes NO SENSE.

NONE.

Yes indeed!

It does suck... That's why I stick to one brand for jeans, shorts, etc... that way I can just go in and pick up my size without trying them on! :)

I KNOW!! I hate them too.

Except for when the size 10 fits -- then I get that false feeling of weight loss. And who doesn't like to live in a fantasy for a while, right?

I agree with B&B's mom. Stick to one brand but Since Levi's not made in this country anymore that's a toss up!

But it comes down to quality control and standards.

I have a dress that's a 10!! Me a 10!! But all my jeans, 14!! No Standards. This pair of jeans I have on right now...12s! It's a bitch.

So that you will have to try on every pair in the store. Fun.

Oh, that's one of my favorite rants! Especially as I often have to buy pants for people other than myself, just adding to the fun.

Another fun fact, because of the way clothes are cut the EXACT SAME SIZE clothes can have slightly different measurements. Big factories use laser cutters on stacks of fabric and if the fabric shifts slightly during the process that can affect the final measurements.

And now that you all have listened to more ranting than you probably wanted to I'll stop now. :)

Some companies use "vanity sizing" to trick women into thinking they're a smaller size than in reality. I know when they're using vanity sizing when I can fit into a 2 (I'm normally a 4 or 6).

Ooh! I might be able to help with this one:

Size 10 Womens (Medium)is the equivilant of a size 14 Misses'(Large)
