The secret to a happy marriage isn't finding the perfect man, it's finding a man who you don't want to stab in the ear with an ice pick even though he throws his dirty clothes ON THE FLOOR IN FRONT OF THE HAMPER.

Navel Gazing Again
Hi kittens.
After a Very Bad Day, I went off my Very Bad Medication and am currently on none at all. Which is...weird. I am jangled and spikey and from time to time weepy and nonsensical. But I'm present. So, there's that. I saw a new (not terribly sympathetic, but at least handy with a prescription pad) doctor today and I should (fingers crossed) be normal-ish in a week or so. In theory. We'll see.
In the interest of clogging the Internet with more of my scintillating self absolution, I'm going to post things that fit into the Navel Gazing genre and have either been posted on prior incarnations of this blog, or have just been hanging about in the drafts waiting to air their dirty laundry.
If y'all need me, I'll be sitting in the bathroom drinking wine.

Click/Slurp
Hiya Chickens!
Guess what NoBlog Sheila and I are doing? Taking pictures! Every day. I KNOW, right! We're participating in a project called Envisage (link under 'People I stalk'), where a bunch of women are submitting a picture a day (everyone elses pictures are better than mine, btw) to chronicle a year in their life. It's the second year of the project. Last years results were gorgeous.
I've created a page just for my pictures here .
Earl, who you'll notice has been added as a writer, is going to be a love and redesign my blog with tabs! and a header! and uh...whatever the hell else he decides to add. I'm the VISION here, people, not the talent.
So stay tuned for BIG! Exciting! Changes! WooHoo!
Speaking of exciting! Our winning Cinderella is I am Trish Marie! Whose wish made me all sniffly. Though that's not why she won. Here's what she wished for:
Well, hell. I wasn't going to be all sad and awwww, but then Vanessa K up there did it first. See, Emmi, my youngest daughter is deaf. She has cochlear implants, and she hears only with the processors on. But she can't wear them in water, and this kid LOVES the ocean. Like you wouldn't believe. So if I get to wish anything for one day, it would be for her to be able to swim in the ocean AND hear it. After that, I'll need that limitless credit card, and the ability to shit hundred dolloar bills. Although, imagine the paper cuts.
See? Now I wish I really did have magic powers, don't you?
Trish Marie email me your address please and I'll send your big winnings!
Happy Weekend, Kittens.

Smell Ya Later
My Gram, who keeps a spotless house, once told me that the easiest way to fake a clean house is to make sure that it smells good.
And that all your guests wear blindfolds.
I kid, I kid. But really. Scent is one of our strongest senses and it effects all other senses. If you had a the tastiest cupcake imaginable in front of you and the whole room smells like dog shit, that cup cake would be far less appetizing than if the whole room smelled like cinnamon and vanilla, wouldn't it?
Having three dogs, a teenager with questionable personal habits and a husband means that my house doesn't always smell...let's call it fresh. Add to that a dog that gets violently, explosively ill when Plug In room fresheners are used and I'm left with either the Renuzit plastic gel pop-up thingies or candles to bring back the calming fresh scent that I crave. Only the Renuzit thingies are ugly and candles + dogs with tails = insurance claims.
So when I say these guys
at Walmart for $5.96 I decided to give it a shot.
I bought two scents, Cranberry-Mandarin and Lilac. The cranberry Mandarin smells amazing. Fresh and crisp. I put it in my office at work and every time I open my office door the scent wafts out. It's not over powering and unlike many room fresheners it doesn't give me a headache.
The lilac doesn't smell very lilac-y but it does smell lovely. I put that one in my bedroom. Maybe because the door is usually open and the room is fairly large, the scent isn't very noticeable. It could also just be the nature of that particular scent. Still, the room does smell nice. I would recommend for a large room that you get two though.
Cost: $5.96
Worth: $5.96
Verdict: I will definitely buy these again! Much cheaper than the Glade version (which cost about $9) and way, way cheaper than the fancy ones at the mall (upwards of $10) they deliver a nice, long lasting fragrance. The "food" scents that I normally prefer like vanilla and cinnamon seemed a bit chemically, but the orange and cranberry Mandarin are nice. Plus the bottle & reed look is way prettier than a gray plastic cone.

And No Shaving the Dog, either
Hello Kittens!
I am taking next week off, okay? Now, Now, stop crying, it's only for a week. Seriously, blowing your nose on my shirt sleeve is just being overly dramatic and also? A little gross. I know you'll miss me. Or at least miss the five minutes I help you avoid doing what you're meant to be doing.
I've arranged for a babysitter to come in and entertain you in my absence. I'm not saying that I don't trust you not to drink all the liquor, shave off one-anothers eyebrows and then light the curtains on fire but I'm not NOT saying that either.
Some of you will know and love The Babysitter already from her starring roles in such now defunct blogs as "Sometimes I pee when I laugh" and "Sometimes I pee when I laugh; Deux" others of you will be mildly terrified of her from reading the wall posts on my FB page where she and I devise porn plots starring me as a Canadian Mountie and her as Shrek and/or debating the various ways in which one might, hypothetically, dispose of a body. Say, on a pig farm, for example.
Thusly introduced, I present to you guest starring in the role of "Hot Babysitter"; my heterointernetlifepartner, the darling, foul mouthed, potty humored and slightly unstable
Liz!
Now, y'all go to bed on time, try not to fight among yourselves and for the love of God; remember to FLUSH.
Mama will be back on 3/3 and if you've behaved and left lots of comments there will be PRIZES in it for you! What prizes? You ask? How do you win them? You ask? Well, you'll just have to wait and see.
Goodbye for now, My Lovelies.....
